You're listening to Spoken In Words-Gospel. I'm going to talk to you today about The Five Blind Boys of Alabama. They are a pretty amazing gospel group. They are also called The Blind Boys Alabama and Clarence Fountain and The Blind Boys of Alabama. When I first saw them sing, I asked: Are they really blind for real? They sing and stand as if they can see. The group was founded in 1939 and Talladega Alabama. I want to talk about their music. I was listening to their album from 1993 titled The Original Five Blind Boys of Alabama:The Sermon. In my opinion, I think they made a great choice to title the album The Sermon. The single talks to the people and has an important message. The lead vocalist of the song speaks out. Some of you just just like that sucker fish. He feeds way down on the soil. He acts out the preacher speaking to the people that haven't been right and those finding fault of everything. Everybody he speaks to is compared to different a different kind of fish. Ones a sucker fish and ones a catfish and so on. As the narrator of the song tells the story, the gospel group hums a gospel tune. Sounds like near the cross. No music just acapella. It's an old hymn for all the world to sing. Yes, it was a wonderful choice to name the album the sermon. The album has 27 songs altogether and the single The Sermon is the first song on the album. So check out the album The Original Blind Boys Alabama:The Sermon.
