To know him is to love him, to love him is to serve him and it's a joy to share these minutes. With you, I was said last week that we're going to be talking about the concept laboring together with the Lord.
We've got to be led of the Spirit if we're filled with the Spirit and we've got to be controlled by the Holy Spirit and not the human Spirit. And when we learn that yes it's okay I guess and it's admirable for me to try to work my fingers to the bone working for the Lord. But when God taught me so long ago that he was willing to work with me and in reality he's or is ever living to make an intercession it can take us into abundant life like we have never known. Jesus said, John 10 10, the thief come to not put forth a steal and a kill and a straw.
But I am come that you may have life and that you may have it more abundantly. So stay tuned, hope if you are where you can get your Bible, have it open to Luke chapter 5. Right now they want to take a little break and worship God with the Reggie Sadler family. You may have never heard of the Reggie Sadler family.
I've ran into some folks who don't know Brother Reggie. He's been my friend, my brother in the Lord for years and years. See and his wife and daughter they come by freedom from time to time and sing for us and they've got a little medley of hymns picked out here I think is what it's going to be. But I just pray that God will use this singing to be a blessing to us.

Up from the grave heroes again And as he stand big for me The sense God has lost his mind With a precious blood A crying sin A little crowd is singing A little child This is the power of Christ in me My first cry To find your breath Jesus commands my destiny No power Or calls me home Here in the power of Christ God give them praise Give them praise And cause I hope you were blessed as I was Reggie Sadler family They've been a blessing since the girls were just little And now the girls have grown up into fine young women And Reggie's just a blessing to my soul I love him so thanks Reggie and your family For singing for us here on this edition Of the Focus of Freedom And thank you for being there And if you have your Bibles open with me now To Luke chapter 5 Jesus was by the Sea of Galilee Multitudes of people pressing around him And as all of this was going on He notices something in verse 2 And he saw two ships standing by the lake Ships standing by the lake I don't know about you now I realize that And when you're not using your boat You've got it in your slip or you've got it put up We all understand that But the Bible is predominantly spiritual For us who are saved And for anyone else that would read it And seek the Lord from within it The ships standing by the lake That just jumps out at me and says You know boats are supposed to be sailing on the lake Not sitting by the lake And when you get on down into this Scripture here, this passage And you know already that Peter was a professional fisherman by trade And so were James and John You're not going to catch any fish If your ship is standing by the lake And not sailing out on the lake In addition, the fishermen were gone out of the boats And they were watching their nets And I understand preparation and I understand all this But I also understand desperation And I also understand frustration You'll learn a little later on That they had toiled all night And they came up empty Now what did that mean? That meant they weren't going to have paychecks for that night That meant the men that they were going to have to pay They didn't have a big catch To sail over to market To naturally and Peter of all people Were kindly stressed And I'm sure frustrated and aggravated So they were washing their nets Putting up their nets And the ships, boat boats were sitting there by the shore Along the shore And now Jesus comes walking into this scenario And there's people all around Who had come specifically to hear him What we need to do as God's people Is to make it as easy as possible For the multitude to meet Jesus To hear him, to learn of him And greatly to learn from him Not just about him but to learn from him So there was the multitude gathered around The two boats of the fishermen sitting on the shore there Their nets propped up there And Jesus now gets into one of the boats And it just so happens was Simon's And now he looks at Simon and he prayed him See that if you have your Bible there He encouraged him, he convinced him I would have loved to have had a picture Of the face of Peter When Jesus said Put your boat out there in the water But now remember We said last week Peter had met Jesus approximately a year earlier To know him in our head is good To know him in our heart Is much much much better But to know him in friendship Comradery and partnership Is another thing entirely Jesus was not interested in just being an acquaintance of Peter He wanted to be a partner in the powerful work of God with Peter So he picks Peter's boat Not James and John's but Peter's boat It's a personal thing God's going to deal with James As we know later what would happen to him Jesus is certainly going to deal intimately In John's life The only disciple that would not be martyred But right now he's dealing with Peter Let me ask you a question Have you had those intimate moments with Jesus? Not just in a collective situation like church on Sunday morning Or a funeral Or a gospel singing Or a concert or a revival It's in the secret times That God sees and knows and uses so greatly To make us stronger and smarter for his glory Matter of fact he said You pray in secret And you do what you do secretly Then I will reward you openly So here is a very intimate scene Jesus steps in to Peter's boat After saying Peter put your boat out there just a little bit from shore And then Jesus steps up in it He gets into Peter's livelihood now He's getting into the more deeper depths of Peter Don't just let Jesus save your soul and then let some religionist Like we said last week When Jesus got the chains off of me A lot of religious people wanted to put their cages on me And I didn't, I was freed from the chains by the power of God And I want to be freed from every cage of religion by the power of God And walk in the Spirit in accordance with relations And not fulfill the lust of the flesh Wasn't that something that Jesus is using Peter's boat As a pulpit As a platform To teach the unsearchable riches of the grace of God God wants to use your life Don't sit there, stand there thinking Well I'm nothing You must be something in the sight of God He sent His only begotten Son into the world for you Jesus died a horrible criminal's death for you He descended down into the depths of death Hell in the grave And defeated those three entities And then also sin and Satan for you He has stood so long without stretched arms and blood dripping hands Saying to you, come unto me and I will give you rest And then He says, come follow me and I'll make you fishers of men And one of these days from the clouds of glory He's going to cry, come up here And we're going to be in a place that He's prepared for us And we'll be with Him forever Free from the reach of Satan and sin Co-Satan and sin will be strangers forever There will be no more curse Only blessings eternally Don't you want to go to that place? And on the pathway between Justification and glorification We've got sanctification and we learn every day Jesus said in Matthew 11, 28 and forward Take my yoke upon you and learn of me For I'm meek and lowly and hard and you'll find rest For your soul, He doesn't want any of us Especially as His followers To be agitated, frustrated, critical Fault finding, tail bearing All of those old characteristics that spring forth That conduct, that springs forth from that old characteristic Of the old human flesh or Adam Jesus wants us filled with the Holy Spirit As He said through the pen of Paul to those at Ephesus Be not drunk with wine or in his excess But be filled with, influenced by, controlled by The Holy Spirit And like we've said often here on the focus of freedom It's the inner character that produces The outer conduct To be controlled by the human spirit You'll have the conduct of the flesh To be controlled by the inner Holy Spirit We'll have the conduct of the Actually the Lord Jesus Himself And peace and joy and love and faith And long suffering and gentleness and goodness and Niechness and temperance All those wonderful attributes of the Holy Spirit The fruit of the Holy Spirit is The very inward character of Christ Through the indwelling Holy Spirit That will promote and maintain Christ-like behavior You won't be able to get there If somebody drops an old denominational religious cage around you Don't let the parameters of religion Whatever those dimensions are Become the scope of your being Jesus has set you free Indeed, abundant life Freedom that Jesus said the truth You'll be set for it Will make you free indeed I mean totally, completely All encompassing And Peter's just about to learn this Now Jesus is teaching Jesus said learn of me Take my yoke upon you My yoke is easy Reminds me of Jehoshaphat That was scared today after that 93 fold enemy That we mentioned the other week coming against him He didn't know what to do Then the young prophet got a word from God And said Jehoshaphat You don't have to fight in this battle So just be at peace Because the battle is the Lord's So the victory is assured Little David went down into that valley of Ela To face Goliath He didn't go down there to earn a victory He went down into that valley With the victory Not a temporary victory for today But the eternal victory for always That's why he said to Goliath Everybody's going to know there is a God In Israel today Whether we eat, whether we drink whatever we do Let's do it all For the glory of God That God can extend his grace to us And then through us To everyone else Learning more about Jesus every day He's eternal He's the author He's the finisher of our faith He is El Adonai El Shaddai He is God almighty He is Jehovah-Rohim, I shepherd He is Jehovah-Chomah He is always present and never absent And with that mindset Of the spiritual mind andness of Christ Active and functional within us We can embrace Philippians 4-13 Humbly Not proudly But humbly I can do all things through Christ Which strengthens me Now Jesus is teaching the word Here's the living word Giving out the written word And the platform is Peter's life Peter's boat Let him in your marriage Let him in your parenting Let him in your job Let him in your hobbies Let him in your Every nook cranny and ass Aspect of your life Jesus wants to be an intricate Vital indispensable Indisposable part of Just loving with all your heart Soul and mind So Peter's listening Everybody else is listening And now Jesus closes the lesson And sends the crowd away He entered into one of the ships Which was silence Pray him he would thrust a little Out from land And he sat down taught the people Out of the ship Oh my My greatest desire Would be that God would use my life To show others Jesus If you're saved Don't you wish the same thing If you're lost And listening right now Don't look at a preacher Don't look at church goers Look to the Lord Jesus Who loves you He's the one Who can make all the difference In your life Any person in Christ becomes a new creature Old things pass away All things become you So don't look at religious people Look at the Redeemer Who loves you And wants to be Your Savior Your Lord and your friend Now when you left speaking The crowd goes away That there are different places And now Jesus is standing on the deck Of that little Galilean fish and boat Probably at its biggest It would be about Probably 40 feet long 12, 14 feet wide Not a humongous vessel So Jesus is standing there After his teaching And he and the crowd leaves And now Look at the intimacy increasing Look at the fellowship and friendship Getting deeper Any relationship Rises or falls Upon the commitment of fellowship within it You've got to have that relationship Paramount in your life My wife She and I Has been a wife We're married That's our relationship But we've got to have intimacy As friends As business partners All the way down the line And the same thing is true With the Christian and Christ He will teach us who He is How the world can me It can add my finite mind Ever ever Discover fully and totally All who Jesus is Until glorification And a seam face to face And I become like Him Now the process of learning It's a joy It's not a requirement It's not an obligation If I think of it that way I can get to a level of knowledge Like Paul would tell him in Corinth That knowledge puffer the foot But charity exalt edifies I'm not ever going to know Everything there is about the Lord Tell a seam face to face I've got the fullness of God inside of me And it is a joy Learning more about Jesus Every day every step along the way So He said to Peter Put out a little bit there From the shore Peter did Jesus got in his boat Used his boat as a platform To teach the insertible riches of his grace and plan And now the crowd is dispersed And Jesus looks down at Peter And says in verse 4 Launch out into the deep They're going out into deeper water Peter is tired He's weary he hadn't slept He had anticipated some morning rest And then getting everything back together After they'd washed their nets You see his intention was Washed and they had to hang them up Come back later Jesus intentions were I'm going to show you how working together with me You can feel those nets up right now You don't have to wait till tonight Well Jesus it's not the proper time to go fishing I'm a professional here Whatever Jesus says do What his mother says at the wedding of King of Galilee Whatever he says do it Now he says to me and he says to you Whatever I tell you to do it Because I'm going to help you do it Can you understand?
Jaha'u'llah you fad you didn't have to fight that enemy Jesus would fight the enemy for you And then share the spoils of victory with you He's teaching Peter and at least Peter's willing to sacrifice himself To talk back to his old human nature And say listen this man is the man I'm not going to argue with him I'm not going to resist him I'm just going to do what he says do So now they find themselves out in deep water And Jesus taking it another step now Cashed out to net here Now now we get a little insight quickly Before we go this time At Peter and all of us humans Let me tell you There's not a human alive Who isn't flawed to some degree We've all sinned and come short of the glory of God We've all sinned and come short of the glory of God That's the second time I said that for I want to get it down again I'm not worthy in myself But I've been made worthy By the blood of the lamb and by the indwelling holy spirit Master we've told all night and have taken nothing Are you a little discouraged about working working working working And not seeing a whole lot of results? Are you a little frustrated about doing so much? And not seeing many results We've toiled all night and taken nothing Nevertheless now oh boy You're getting somewhere You're allowing the instruction of your messiah To start taking root and taking effect Nevertheless at thy word I will And when they had thus done Do you see I love that When they had this done Peter went over there in obedience And he gripped the net But as he gripped the net and began to tug on it The resistance of that weight Become much lighter Because two other hands Grip the net The hand of the Lord Jesus Have you let his hands Get involved in what you're doing?
