The fog of life clouds your vision

There is a term in warfare called "the fog of war." It is a metaphor for the confusion that occurs on the battlefield when bullets are flying and bombs are exploding. In this confusion, or fog, the battle plan becomes unclear and uncertain. Likewise, there is a fog in life that causes confusion in the vision God has given you. The Bible calls this fog the "cares of this world."
