Is there a word that's like "penultimate" but like it means the third from last thing instead of the second?  This is that.  Act one of Natalie's cool story (it's a working title) and our very first night at the opera draw toward the end of all things as the simmering pot comes to a rolling boil and the freeloaders, armed with their knowledge and moral courage and surety of purpose but even more armed with a bunch of World War 2 era foreign guns left over from the OSS, seek to take a sword to the mystery's Gordian knot.  They know where they need to go and what they need to do, but their reckless delving into the depths will bring them face to face with otherworldly horrors beyond their comprehension.  Do they have what it takes to stave off the darkness for another day?  I guess we'll find out together.  Also, Caliban has a cool book now.
