The future of work on Workers Day
from Die ekonomie minuut · host Waldo Krugell
Ten years ago, The Economist magazine had a special report on the future of work. Among other things, it predicted the likelihood that specific jobs would be replaced by robots and artificial intelligence within two decades. One could easily believe that telemarketers are in trouble, but accountants and auditors? Then came ChatGPT and suddenly the list of jobs under threat seems much longer. This episode is supported by the Bureau of Economic Research in Stellenbosch and the NWU Business School. Errors and omissions are my own.
