The Gilead Gazette: 10 Years for a Miscarriage Pill, FDA Chief Fired, Dr Oz Says We're 'Under-Babied'

It’s been a busy week in the war on women. The Supreme Court issued an emergency stay protecting abortion pill access by mail, then kicked the case back to the Fifth Circuit so the conservative court can take another swing at it after the midterms. Justices Alito and Thomas dissented and used their dissents to write a roadmap for the next anti-abortion lawsuit. The very next day, Trump fired FDA chief Marty Makary, days after anti-abortion leaders publicly trashed him for not moving fast enough on banning the pills.Dr. Mehmet Oz, who runs Medicare and Medicaid, used the launch of Moms.gov to announce that one in three Americans are “under-babied.” Mississippi and Oklahoma both passed laws making it a felony to distribute misoprostol, the medication that’s also used to safely complete m!scarriages and prevent postpartum hemorrhage. Florida’s two-year-old six-week ban is driving a 25 percent surge in mothers receiving delayed or no prenatal care. Lynchburg, Virginia, passed a zoning ordinance that effectively bans cl!nics from operating anywhere in the city. And in California, anti-abortion stalker Anastasia Rogers is going to trial under the state’s version of the FACE Act because Trump’s DOJ stopped enforcing the federal version in January, the same week he pardoned anti-@bortion protesters who used violence.The bans aren’t the project.
