The Gilead Gazette: Murder Charges, VA Betrayal, Abortion Websites Seized​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

This week on the Gilead Gazette: A military veteran and mother of two in Georgia was charged with murder for a pregnancy outcome. Police claim she took abortion pills. A friend who was with her says she didn’t. The hospital security guard, a retired sheriff’s deputy, turned her in. She was interrogated in her hospital bed. She sat in jail for three weeks before a judge called the charge “extremely problematic” and set her bond at one dollar. The Senate voted 48-50 to uphold the Trump administration’s VA abortion ban, giving women veterans stricter abortion restrictions than federal prisoners. Five Republican senators are pressuring the FDA to seize abortion pill website domains, inspect packages through the postal service, and prosecute providers and anyone who helps women access medication. At CPAC, Benny Johnson told conservatives to “out-breed the left” and lied about an NBC poll, claiming young conservative women ranked having children as their top priority when the actual data showed it was number six — he swapped the men’s results onto women. Title X funding expires Monday, cutting two million Americans off from birth control and cancer screenings. Plus South Dakota outlawed abortion speech, Kansas is about to override a CARE Act veto, and Iowa is trying to ban shipping abortion pills.
