According to Steven Olderr's, Symbolism - a Comprehensive Dictionary, a gnome symbolises: a flash of knowledge; inspiration; enlightenment; intuition; knowledge held in secret; associated with mining. A gnome represents a force that helps us when we look within and need help when we are doing good and on the right path.
