Andrew challenged the grumpy and judgmental attitudes of the "99 righteous" by emphasising the "Reckless Love of God" which drives Jesus, the Good Shepherd, to extreme lengths to seek us when we are lost. He stressed that no one is too far gone because we are saved purely by grace (Ephesians 2:4–5), not works, asserting the truth that "there is no one righteous, not even one" (Romans 3:10).
