There were 400 years of silence leading up to the birth of Jesus. Although it appeared as if God was absent, the groundwork was being laid for the biggest moment in the history of the world. During this series, we will be looking historically at what was going on in the world and what part it had to play in the birth of Jesus. We start with the Persian Empire, which accomplished two major things to set the stage for the arrival of the Son of God.
