Oil Beneath The Surface — The Holy Spirit @ Work (In You) — Pentecost Sermon Series #1 | Pastor Georgia Hill @ LifeChurch Riverside Detroit

"There is an unseen treasure beneath your exterior. But in order to get to what the Holy Spirit has inside of you, it's going to take the machinery of Jesus Christ, the work of the word of God and the Holy Spirit to bring it up out of you."THE MESSAGEIn the opening of our new "@ Work" series, Pastor Georgia Hill explores the hidden, transformative power of the Holy Spirit. Using the historical backdrop of the Oklahoma oil boom and the story of Sarah Rector (the Muskogee Creek girl who became Oklahoma’s wealthiest woman), we see a profound spiritual parallel: what appears to be "dry and dusty" land often hides the most valuable treasure. Through the vision of the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel 37, we learn that God isn't just interested in us existing; He wants His Spirit (Ruach) to breathe life into us so that we might thrive, flourish, and become an "exceedingly great army."A WORD FROM PASTOR GEORGIA"God is not just looking for us to exist. It's not enough just to have a heart beating and blood that's running warm through your veins. God's people are to live, to thrive and to flourish.""Knowing who God is—that’s what life is all about. When you know who God is, then you can live.""Don't be upset when you feel stuff going on on the inside of you. Don't be upset because it's uncomfortable. Growth is difficult. It's painful... but don't resist the process. Allow God to work in you because he's going to be mining the rich depths of the Holy Spirit's work in you."KEY SCRIPTURES📖 Ezekiel 37:5 "Thus says the Lord God to these bones, surely I will cause breath to enter into you and you shall live."📖 1 Corinthians 6:19 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God and you are not your own?"📖 1 John 2:27 (First Nations Version) "The sweet smelling ointment of his spirit remains with you... and is your teacher in all things."RESOURCES & NEXT STEPS✨ New Here?
