"Jesus came into the synagogue and began to read from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah: 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor... to proclaim release to the captives...' That word 'release' is the same Greek word that is translated as 'forgiveness.' He has proclaimed forgiveness to the captives. He hasn't just claimed that you will forgive, but that you are empowered to forgive by the Holy Spirit."THE MESSAGE"Some prisoners wear their chains on the inside." While physical chains are visible, we often remain bound by invisible shackles of unforgiveness, bitterness, and resentment.
