The impact of an outfit

The impact of an outfit.  That is the reflection of the day.   I want to share with you that after having a crazy off day yesterday, I decided that this morning I was going to dress up the way I always did prior to the Coronavirus.  Many of you that follow me know that I have always dressed  up.  This is part of my persona and something that I've been doing for a very long time.  I've always liked to dress up in the role of an executive.  For quite some time now, I have been using “Rent-the-Runway” which is a clothing rental company.   I have a membership where I have been renting 4 dresses per week.  You can rent beautiful designer dresses for a minimal  fee every month.  Every week, as you return them, you are able to rent new ones.  I really enjoy having options.   Today,  I decided that I was going to get all dressed up and do an experiment with my mind shift by wearing a simple dress.  Wow!  I feel completely different.   Ironically, with a simple act of wearing a dress, I feel beautiful and elegant.  As soon as I arrived at the office, I felt a total mind shift.  I felt something unique which resulted from a simple act of just wearing an outfit that empowers you.   I also realized the danger of when you are working from home.  When you wake up in your pajamas and go work, you don't empower yourself.  For women,  just doing your hair or your makeup and wearing something beautiful that makes you feel special, takes you out of this  complacent mode.   It is very easy to get into such a space during this time of crisis. A time where our lives shifted completely for all of us.  Therefore, I want you to join me in trying the exercise I just did today of getting yourself all suited up for a man or dressed up with a beautiful dress for a woman.   Let’s reflect, reset and reconnect.
