The Importance of The Black Press

This week I was invited on a panel to speak about the Black Press. Ahead of the panel, we watched the documentary, "Voices of The Black Press: Soldiers without Swords," and then had a talkback. I left the event feeling so honored to be a Journalist and was inspired to talk about it here.In today's Brain Squeeze episode I highlight the most memorable moments from the documentary and I discuss the important role of the Black Press today. From needing more representation in rooms, controlling our narrative, and the responsibility we hold to tell our stories, it's such a layered conversation.
