I’ve sat in those dark rooms, most notably in 2017 when my husband Richard’s cancer returned, and I realized my old map couldn't guide me through this new valley. We have to decide: will we believe the lie that God is holding back, or will we trust the Master Architect who kneels in the mud with us? The Internal Map: We all navigate life through a grid created by past experiences and stories, but often this map colors our reality incorrectly and hides the true terrain of God’s grace. The Wrong Question: Like the disciples, we often ask "Who sinned?" when we see suffering, but Jesus shifts the focus from the cause of the pain to the revelation of God’s glory through it. God as the Master Creator: In the story of the man born blind, Jesus uses mud—a callback to creation—to show that He is not a distant observer of our pain but a participant who enters into it to bring restoration. Generative Language: True healing begins when we stop hiding and ask, "God, what am I believing in this situation about myself or You that is hurting us?".
