The Iranian Women’s Team and the Reality Beyond the Game

Last week there was a story that went far beyond sport. What happened to the Iranian women’s football team during the Asian Cup was about safety, and impossible choices. These athletes came to Australia to compete and were instead forced to navigate war, surveillance and global attention, simply for playing football.
