Mordonia is abuzz with preparations for the wedding of Queen Zakana to Beryl's father, Brownleigh. But will there be a wedding? The appearance of an image of a Mazzak, an evil being that is said to be a bad omen, makes people start to wonder. Beryl has other worries as well: why is Amar suddenly avoiding her? Who is the mysterious woman who has captured his attention? Why has the spirit of The Eye of the Soul appeared to her, and what is the danger he portends?
