The Law, You're Doing It Wrong

Greetings, and may grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied to you. We will finish up Mark 2 today. The Pharisees were famous for taking the Law that God gave to Moses and the Israelites, and turning it into something that God never intended. One example is when the Pharisees (who weren’t fair, you see), hassled the apostles for picking grain on the Sabbath because they were hungry. God didn’t give us the law to burden us or punish us, but to free us from the burden of sin. We need the Sabbath so that we’re not stuck working 7 days a week. So even though Chic-Fil-A is closed on Sunday, you can still make a sandwich without feeling guilty. When the law is applied wrong, we end up living a miserable life constantly worrying about sin. But when it’s applied correctly, that’s when redemption and healing can happen. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28 19-20 Don’t forget to pray for one another, especially during these uncertain times.
