The Lucifer Rebellion: Part 6 - The Time Lag of Justice & Mercy

This Planet, Urantia has endured much confusion since the ourbreak of the rebellion over 200,000 years ago. Many mortals are left asking questions as to why such evil and sin can persist for so long on our planet? The Urantia Book tells us that all of creation is one great family, starting from God the first source and center, and descending down to mortals. This very fact of cosmic relation between personalities can give some insight into why a loving parent would be slow to punish their erring child.  54:4.2 Parents, those who have borne and reared children, are better able to understand why Michael, a Creator-father, might be slow to condemn and destroy his own Sons. Jesus’ story of the prodigal son well illustrates how a loving father can long wait for the repentance of an erring child. Also in this study we will talk about the importance of free will. How the very fact that an evil-doing creature can actually choose to do wrong, commit sin, or choose to do good establishes the fact of free-will. The universe administrators sit back and give humans free liberty to choose. These merciful administrators even delay such execution of justice so that the erring creature might see the error of their ways and seek nigher ways of living that reflect a nature more reflective of truth, beauty and goodness. Divinity is truly merciful, and forgiving. 54:4.6 ...This restraint of justice by mercy proves that God is love, and that such a God of love dominates the universes and in mercy controls the fate and judgment of all his creatures. Lucifer showed impatience and made choices that resulted in great challenges for the rest of the universe family.
