The Magic of the 80's

For the last installment of our October horror themed episodes we decided to take a dive into one of the most influential eras of Horror Cinema, the 80’s. What was it about the 80’s that created the perfect atmosphere for iconic cinema classics? Was it the level of modern technology rendered throughout film, the body horror themes, the political context? Third World Ballers sifts through all the goo and entrails of the 80’s conflating elements with Horrors recent resurgence as well as the body horror motifs that still linger and make us cringe. The nightmare that was Michael, Freddy, The Thing, and Videodrome, have stood the test of time because of their startling character’s nature to create a pure mythology.
