The mistreatment and misunderstanding of black women in hip-hop media

from What’s On Ya Mind Podcast · host Anthony Brinson III

From my lens, whether you are a Doechii, a Sexy Red or an Ice Spice, it is never enough for black women in the hip-hop world. There's seemingly this unreachable standard they have to reach and even when they are overly judged or sexualized, they are deemed as less than. Unfortunately sometimes the problem even comes from within the black community or even other female rappers. And no matter the heights black women or black people reach, it never seems to be enough. We need to have a conversation.
