The Moment I Realized Cena Was Really Gone…
from Wrestle Chop: WWE Wrestling Podcast
This is a video that I've debated releasing. After SummerSlam 2025, John Cena's last match as top champion, as a 17th time champion, I was doing a hot take video, responses towards, you know, SummerSlam Night 2. And a viewer made me realize that that was John Cena's last ever running to the ring as champion, and that's why they did the abrupt face turn, so we could fully enjoy it. The comment, I responded, but it just, like, as I talked about it more and more, it just kind of blindsided me, it hit me that this was it. John Cena's done. I've been watching this guy for years and years. I booed him at WrestleMania 23. I was a hater. I would have been the guy that threw back the shirt. I would have rioted if John Cena had won. But now, at some point along the way, I became a believer. John Cena made me into a believer. I generally broke down crying, a 45-year-old man crying that a dude he didn't even like that much was gone. I always respected him, but for the most part, I didn't like him. I owe him an apology, the sacrifice he gave us. The weight of the company on his back. I am sorry, John Cena. I salute you. I respect you. I love you. And if you have ever loved Cena, hated Cena, booed Cena, grew up watching John Cena, this one's for you. Thank you, John. Thank you for everything. Everything.
