The Need for Better Analytics

I know many people watching and listening will disagree however there is no solid metric where we can see that things are working well versus slightly working better than no analytics. It isn't until you witness a great quant or analyst that you realize there is a lot of room for improvement in all areas of analytics including quant finance, data science, and business analytics.A hard lesson for smaller firms is that it is better to pay more for a quality quant or analyst than it is to hire multiple analysts. It's like saying if you have 10 clueless people trying to do surgery on you, you'll end up with the same results as hiring a top 10 surgeon. More isn't better!
