One Sunday night in the spring of 2014, Bowie walked into the 96-year-old jazz joint 55 Bar in New York’s West Village and saw the night's headliner, a quartet led by saxophonist Donny McCaslin. He took in the set and ten days later Donny got an email from Bowie wanted him and his drummer Mark Guiliana to join him in the studio .. and with that, the jazz was his swan song ..
