The Old and New Don't Mix

Greetings, and may grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied to you. We continue in Mark 1 today as well as chapter 2. Jesus stirred up quite a bit of controversy in His ministry. The Pharisees were looking for a Messiah that would enforce rules, overthrow governments, and cast judgment. Jesus did the opposite by healing the sick, forgiving sin, hanging out with the lowest of low, and breaking traditions created by man. Jesus doesn't want a religious system, He wants a relationship. He doesn't desire traditions, He desires faith. The new way of life is not compatible with the old way. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28 19-20 Don’t forget to pray for one another, especially during these uncertain times.
