Deep in the Lilac Kingdom, Mr. Scratch hears a scratching sound that drives him into madness until he is defeated by the bats in the cave.

It's revealed that Uly survived the fall when his mother, Mercy threw him over into the chasm. It's also revealed that it was all planned for Uly to cover himself up in squirrel's blood and play dead as she threw him over. Mia is freed from the trap and together, they come up with a plan to get back at Mr. Scratch with a moldy rotten paw.
