The Pedagogy of Ramadan

How fasting in Ramadan was taught and learned as children can influence how we attach ourselves to it. The reward system that works in constructing meaning-making differs between fasting and solat (prayer). Also, social learning made fasting and Ramadan more memorable. Perhaps, it explains a little bit why it is quite common for us to find some Muslims fast in Ramadan but abandon solat.
