The People's Artist, Guy Stanley Philoche

My guest today is Guy Stanley Philoche,who for the past 20 years, has been attracting international attention with his work and impressive roster of solo shows. In his debut work, the acclaimed Untitled Series, Guy established himself as a force to watch on the art scene. Also known as The People's Artist for his help to struggling artists during the Covid-19 global quarantine. Instead of focusing on art reflecting the suffering, Philoche wanted to take people out of their fear and pain and make them smile. With businesses shut down and unable to access the art store, Philoche had to come up with new colors from the paints he had left or had to find new media to use. And out of all of that, came Remembering Your Innocence series.
