“The Philippian Jailer” – A Sermon on Acts 16:19–40
from Twin Villages Church - Sermons · host Twin Village's Church
📝 Sermon DescriptionIn Acts 16:19–40, Paul and Silas are beaten, imprisoned, and placed in stocks for faithfully proclaiming the gospel. Yet even in suffering, they pray and sing hymns to God. When the Lord sends an earthquake and opens the prison doors, the Philippian jailer cries out, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul answers with the good news: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” This passage reminds us that God is sovereign over suffering, the gospel cannot be imprisoned, and salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord uses the faithful witness of His people to bring sinners from fear and despair into joy, fellowship, and new life.🙏 Join Us for Worship🕙 Every Sunday at 10 AM📍 40 Church Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543🌐 www.twinvillageschurch.org🔗 Stay Connected👍 Facebook: facebook.com/twinvillageschurch▶️ YouTube: youtube.com/twinvillageschurch🎧 Apple Podcasts: twinvillageschurch.org/apple🔊 Spotify: twinvillageschurch.org/spotify💖 Give: twinvillageschurch.org/give📚 More Resources: twinvillageschurch.org🗓️ Sermon Date: Sunday, July 12th, 2026
