The Power and Purpose of Impartation - Audio

from The Gathering Place Church - main · host John Ettore

Purpose for imparting – for blessing, empowerment, effectiveness, fruitfulness, increase. In the Bible impartation is for your empowerment to help advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ: “Jesus gathered his twelve disciples and imparted to them authority to cast out demons and to heal every sickness and every disease.” Matthew 10:1 TPT One of the main ways authority, power, spiritual gifts, wisdom, anointings, are transferred from one person to another is through prophecy and the laying on of hands – which we are going to do today. Not just to Josh and Darylee, but after we ordain Josh and Darylee we are going to have lay hands on anyone who wants to receive more to do more for God. God gives different measures to different people for different purposes but you need these things to accomplish what God has called you to be and do. Stephanie for evangelism. David for service. Josh for worship. Darylee for outreach. Me for leadership, wisdom, and pastoral anointing. Mark and Dennis for prophecy. Laying hands to impart is considered in the Bible as a basic foundational truth. Elementary. (Jacob to sons) “Now is the time for us to progress beyond the basic message of Christ and advance into perfection. The foundation has already been laid for us to build upon: turning away from our dead works to embrace faith in God, teaching about different baptisms, impartation by the laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. So with God’s enablement we will move on to deeper truths.” Hebrews 6:1-3 TPT Examples: Numbers 27:15-23; Deuteronomy 34:9; Numbers 11:16-17 Acts 6:1-6, 8, 10, (They were already full of the Spirit and wisdom, however the Apostles still had something they needed – overseers anointing. And they got more than they bargained for!) (Hage) Acts 8:14-18 Phillip, on of the original 7, was operating in miracles and preaching. An entire city got saved. However, he called for Peter and John to come down to impart the Holy Spirit. Acts 9:10-18 God purposely does not give you all you need directly because He wants the body to be dependent on one another. Acts 19:1-6 You can be born again but not have the baptism of the Holy Spirit Key Truths: Giver must give freely. “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8 NKJ Receiver must receive expectantly. “And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, ‘Look at us.’ So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.” John 3:4, 5 The receiver must also have a healthy respect for the office of the giver. Honor a prophet and get… familiarity - Larry Josh and Darylee charge 1 Timothy 4:12-16; 2 Timothy 1:6; Josh and Darylee commission Acts 13:1-3 Leadership prays for others who want more from God to be able to do more for God.
