How are strong support systems vital for mental health management? In this week's bonus episode, Sarah is joined by two very special guests, Melissa Duncan and Jihan Gabart who are the founders of SoMyPolar Inc. SoMypolar INC consists of Melissa Duncan and Jihan Gabart. We are a nonprofit organization that services the mental health community. Melissa is diagnosed with more than one mental health illness and chooses to live a life more significant than what society portrays as possible. Her diagnosis was given over ten years ago, consisting of bipolar, OCD, and schizoaffective disorder. Jihan is currently her caregiver, a role that she was thrown into after witnessing the struggles of her childhood friend. A role unfamiliar for both embarked them on a journey. It catapulted them into a movement to fight stigmas and shed light on the life of the two, showing a great example of when people love others with mental illness and what it can do!  Join these ladies as they discuss the power of supporting loved ones who are managing mental health conditions, how friendship plays a crucial role in psychological recovery, the role of caregivers in the healing process, and how mental health stigmas can be dismantled through raising awareness of these issues in various communities.
