All over the world democracies are beginning to act … undemocratically. George Orwell predicted a future where the ‘truth’ is dictated by the state. How close are we to this reality? Australia is attempting to impose laws to restrict access to social media for children under 16 years of age. In Canada, our own government has restricted access to the internet for media outlets. In Korea, the president attempted to declare martial law because he wasn’t happy with his opposition. Is there hope for the future?
