The Prison Poets of Lansing and Ricky Kidd’s Poetry Too

The Prison Poets of Lansing and Ricky Kidd's Poetry Too Tuesday, February 21st, the Johnson County Library and the Writer' Place sponsored the Thomas Zvi Wilson Reading Series with a poetry reading by prisoners in the poetry group led by Arlin Buyert. There were three former prisoners and four prisoners that came from the Lansing Correctional Facility to read. They each read poetry from prisoners that could not attend and their own poetry as well. The Poetry group at Lancing is one part of the Arts In Prison project at Lansing Correctional Facility. In this broadcast we will be playing all of the poetry that was read, to be followed by some of the poetry of Ricky Kidd who is a wrongfully convicted citizen fighting for his freedom from the Missouri Department of Corrections.
