Statistics South Africa released the second quarter's labour force survey data yesterday and there was some good news. The official unemployment rate decreased by 0.3 percentage points from 32.9% in the first quarter to 32.6%. This episode is supported by Economic Research Southern Africa and the NWU Business School.
