The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999)
from The Gory Gays Hosted by Alex Marquez & Stanley Jacobus
We have another 25th birthday in the house with another underrated sequel -- 1999's THE RAGE: CARRIE 2, starring Emily Bergl as the half-sister of Sissy Spacek's iconic Carrie, a troubled girl trying to keep her supernatural powers under wrap while trying to fend off a group of evil popular kids. It's actually better than it has any right being (we think) -- so join us as we talk Stephen King connections (they exist, we promise), lazy writing, toxic masculinity / evil cheerleaders, production drama, and a bitchin' finale that may not live up to the original exemplary prom setpiece, but it's pretty damn cool! Also, tune in for our thoughts on new releases LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL and IMMACULATE (both 2024.) We're back next week with ANOTHER bonkers sequel... listen at the end for what Alex has selected!
