The Real Sober Moms with Michelle
from The Sober Mom Life
Michelle’s sobriety story is so relatable. While alcohol had been a big part of her life since high school, after having a child she settled into being a ‘special occasions and weekends’ drinker. Blackouts and hangovers occurred when she drank, but since it wasn’t very often she didn’t think much of it. During Covid, things changed. Michelle found herself drinking almost nightly. The blackouts and hangovers became crippling due to their consistency. It was then that she decided to set rules around her drinking and attempt moderation. On the outside, it likely looked like moderation was working for her. But even with long breaks in between drinking, Michelle found that once she started drinking she couldn’t stop. Six months ago, she realized that blackouts and hangovers just weren’t worth it anymore. It was time to quit for good. Michelle is now six months sober! Finding a community and doing the work made all the difference for her. She is now experiencing sobriety in a full and rich way. Community makes all the difference.
