The Resurrection and The Cross—A New Understanding of Jesus and Ourselves—Part 2

from The Cosmic Citizen · host Paula Thompson

Join us Saturday as we continue the second of episode of a four-part study of the resurrection of Jesus and its implications for a new understanding of his death on the cross, the meaning and value of his life on Earth, and what that means for each of us. We will peruse a thumbnail sketch of the true nature of Jesus, Michael of Nebadon, before ever he began his seventh bestowal on our world. From The Urantia Book: THE Creator Sons are the makers and rulers of the local universes of time and space. These universe creators and sovereigns are of dual origin, embodying the characteristics of God the Father and God the Son. [21:0.1 (234.1)] The fact of creatorship implies the fullness of sovereignty, but the Michaels choose to experientially earn it, [21:3.3 (237.5)] [Michael is] ...a Sovereign so vitally interested in his creatures, he only replied [when asked about his prior bestowals]: “I have simply been about my Father’s business. I am only doing the pleasure of the Paradise Sons who love and crave to understand their creatures.” [119:6.5 (1316.2)] JESUS ...experienced the ordinary ups and downs of mortal existence, but he never religiously doubted the certainty of God’s watchcare and guidance. [196:0.1 (2087.1)] We'll discuss the true import of Jesus' life and teachings on our world and how this leads to a broader, deeper, and more forward-looking view of our relationship with our Loving Father and how Jesus illuminated those through his manner of life, manner of death, and resurrection. What might we hope to enjoy as a progressive ascension in greater and greater knowledge, faith, and love for God as a result of the nature of this Son of God and Son of Man?
