Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in Revelation 2 today. The message to the church in Ephesus was a dire warning, and we know today that the church no longer exists. Roughly 4,000 churches close each year in the US alone, with only 3,800 being planted. The reason is that churches are losing their focus. When we make church about everything except Jesus, it’s no wonder why God may decide to pull the lampstand. Highland alone has gone through several cycles of shrink and growth over the last 25 years, but we aren’t immune. If we treat God's grace as a license to do whatever we want like other churches are doing, then it's only a matter of time before our lampstand gets pulled. This warning didn't just happen to the church in Ephesus, but to all churches that have ever been planted.
