The Role Your Childhood Trauma Plays in Your Own Parenting Journey | Birth, Baby! Ep.119

from Birth, Baby! | Guidance for Pregnancy, Birth, Postpartum, and Parenting · host Birth, Baby! Podcast

Some people realize they have childhood trauma prior to becoming parents. Sometimes people don't even realize they have childhood trauma until they become parents themselves. Laura Bruce, Founder and Director of Mi Casa Es Tu Casa®, joins Ciarra and Samantha on this episode to discuss this topic as well as the program she has created to help parents navigate this experience with their own children.  Laura was born and raised in Venezuela where she earned her degree in clinical psychology. This background, and her love of music, led her to create a program specifically designed to facilitate language acquisition (Spanish & American Sign Language), social skills, early childhood development, emotional intelligence, musical development, and conscious parenting.  She does creative work and sings on all five of the musical collections produced by Mi Casa Es Tu Casa®, 2 of their public albums have been nominated to the Latin Grammys (2021, 2022) for Best Latin Children’s Album.  Laura’s mission is to eradicate childhood trauma, encouraging healthy and deep interactions between parent and child, fueled by love, respect, empathy, and dignity.
