Today’s guest is someone many of us grew up watching even if we didn’t realise it. David Holmes was a stunt double in the Harry Potter films, mostly for Harry but he also doubled for quite a few other characters and contributed to one of the most iconic movie franchises of our generation. But during filming, an accident left David paralysed from the chest down at just 25 years old. His memoir The Boy Who Lived and his documentary of the same name tell the story of that accident, but more importantly, what happened after. In the book and the doco, David shares how his friendships are what kept him alive, how his identity has shifted since the accident and the complicated reality of rebuilding a life when everything changes in a second.
