In this episode of Thinning of the Veil, host Tia Smith digs into Doctrine and Covenants 130 from this week's Come Follow Me study and traces a stunning pattern for Latter-day Saints (LDS): that the temple, our physical bodies, and the promised "white stone" and "new name" all point to becoming instruments of revelation — filled with light, like the Lord Himself.Starting from the Bible Dictionary definition — a Hebrew term meaning "lights and perfections" — Tia follows the thread of light through scripture: the sanctified earth becoming a Urim and Thummim (D&C 130:7–9), the white stone and new name of Revelation 2:17, and Joseph Smith's teaching that the new name is a keyword received in the temple endowment. She then lays out a striking parallel between Aaron's ordination (Exodus 28–29) — washed, anointed, the names of Israel borne over his heart with the Urim and Thummim in the breastplate — and the brother of Jared's experience on Mount Shelem (Ether 3), where the Lord touched 16 stones and the veil was taken from his eyes.
