The Thread Between Us - with My Mum

from Baby, It's you! Hosted by Kim

This episode is a conversation between my mum (Cathy) and me. Together, we explore our own stories and the threads that exist between them. We speak about childhood experiences and how they quietly shape the way we each move through parenting, relationships, and emotional life. There are moments where patterns become visible in real time, and moments of reflection about what it means to understand each other more deeply. We also talk about generational differences, what was carried, what was learned, and what was never really named and how support, or the lack of it, can shape the experience of raising children. At the heart of this conversation is a focus on listening. To ourselves. To each other. And to what sits underneath the surface of our stories. It’s not about getting anything perfect or resolved. It’s about sitting together, noticing what arises, and allowing space for understanding to grow in real time. This is a personal conversation and I’m really grateful to have shared it with my mum. I'd love to hear your thoughts and reflections about the episode. You can find me on instagram @kimberley.cousins or via email [email protected] I look forward to hearing from you X
