- Today is designated as the khutba campaign for disability by the Muslims with Disability Association. - Challenges are a part of life, and believers are reminded of them every forty days, whether in wealth, children, or oneself. - The Qur'an lists five types of tests: fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives, and fruits, with a message to give glad tidings to the patient. - Quick judgments about someone's suffering being a punishment for sins are criticized; the concept of test and trial (balā’ and ibtilā’) is emphasized. - Those who judge others overlook that they, too, are being tested by their behavior and reactions towards those who are suffering. - Respectful and welcoming behavior is encouraged towards individuals with physical disabilities or mental illnesses. - The Qur'an gives special attention to the physically challenged, emphasizing no hardship for the blind, lame, or sick. - A historical context of verse 24:61 is mentioned, where people in Medina wouldn't allow a handicapped person to share a meal before Islam. - Islamic requirements for helping the disabled, such as providing parking and access, are discussed, with the Prophet's saying on leading a blind person to the mosque. - The importance of a balanced viewpoint on the Middle East conflict is highlighted, with examples from media and academia. - Hypocrisy in Western political elites during the Gaza conflict is pointed out, emphasizing the need for a fair and unbiased history education. - The importance of maintaining justice, bearing witness for Allah, and avoiding hatred in dealings with people is emphasized through a Quranic verse (5:8).
