The Value Of Service

This week we look at Service – something which is not common enough in our world, and yet is so desperately needed. Service is the Third of The Nine Freedoms.

Unselfish service to others is the great karma yoga in these days, and it’s something we can all do in one way or another. We can give service directly by working for a charity to help the sick and needy – and there are so many worthy causes to choose from – or we can give service more indirectly through prayer and spiritual action. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Prayer is the most potent instrument of action”.

By giving service we not only help others but also help ourselves on our own spiritual journey towards enlightenment.
