The spirit world: what happens when we die? Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society In this article and podcast, Tanya Solberg looks at the spirit world, the place all of us go between each of our many incarnations. There is more to life than meets the eye, and in a way, there isn’t really such a thing as death. In order to understand what happens when we die, we need first to understand a bit about the auric body. We are not just the physical body. Around the physical body is a psychic counterpart called the aura. This aura is a psychic reflection of the physical body. It not only reflects the state of physical health, the emotions and psychic development, but it is the part of ourselves that does not die and disintegrate with the physical body. It moves on after death to a different realm of existence around this Earth. Because the aura contains our memory and personality then this also goes with us when we die so we do not forget who we are or who we knew. These realms are just like the physical realm we now inhabit in that they have trees, mountains, rivers and houses. But the spirit realms are more mental than the physical. For instance we may be able to manifest things through mental visualisation. What happens when we die? The physical body and the auric body are connected together by what is termed the “silver cord”. This is an etheric cord located at the back of the neck which connects these two bodies together. A person who has a near death experience is able to come back to life again because the cord has not been broken. Once it is then the physical body can no longer be inhabited. If you, the spirit, were to try to get back into the body you would flop right out again. In fact there are ten distinctly separate spirit realms. If we include this physical realm this means that there are 11 different vibrations of existence of life around this planet. Six of these realms operate on higher vibrational frequencies to where we now are and four realms operate on a lower vibrational frequency. This breaks the spirit realms into two distinct areas – the higher realms which are above the physical, and the lower realms which are below this physical realm. In biblical terminology this separation between the realms is referred to as heaven and hell. Each realm is on a different energy level and if you were to travel from one to another you would become aware of subtle changes. The higher up the scale the more alive it becomes – absolutely scintillating with life and music and colour. Then if you were to move down to the lower realms they would become darker with not so much light. Each of the six realms above this physical realm has a higher and higher vibration. Just as each of the four realms below this physical, becomes lower and lower in vibration. To differentiate between the realms Dr King numbered the physical realm as level 1, the higher realms as level 2 to level 7 and the lower realms as level -1 to level -4. Unlike the physical realm which is a melting pot for all kinds of people, all on different levels of experience, undergoing different karmic lessons – the spirit realms distinctly group people together based on their level of spiritual evolution and current experience cycle. This makes for a very pleasant realm of existence if you happen to be living on a higher realm. But not necessarily a very pleasant place to be if you are on the lower realms – although in saying this many of the people living there excel in this environment. We must remember that when people pass on from the physical realm they do not suddenly become angels or saints. We retain our basic memory and personality and continue in much the same way as we lived on this physical realm. Which realm do we go to? When we pass on we go to the realm that we deserve to go to based on how we have lived our lives. This is reflected in the vibration of our aura. If we have been a deeply spiritual person then the vibrations of our aura will be heightened. We will then pass to the spirit realm that is vibrating most closely to our own aura which will be, in this case, on the higher realms. Likewise if we have been a negative immoral person, the vibrations of our aura will be much lower. When we move to the spirit realms we will naturally be attuned to a lower realm. The realm to which we go is not a punishment – there is no such thing as eternal hell and damnation – we merely pass to the realm which is most in tune to our aura and therefore most comfortable for us to exist upon. A person of lower vibration would not be able to exist for long upon one of the higher realms, in the same way that a person of a higher vibration would not be able to exist for long on one of the lower realms. Your everyday average good person would go to level 2 whereas a saint might go to level 6. Conversely your everyday average selfish or unpleasant person may be on level -1 whereas the mass murders would be on level -4. What do people do in the spirit world? In Dr. King’s lecture on the spirit realms he gave us some insight into what people do while they are living there. One of these is that people have an opportunity to attend the many schools of learning on various subjects which exist on these realms. They have large temples for worship and halls of learning where people learn subjects such as prayer, healing, writing, art, music, the sciences and so on. You don’t have to attend these schools if you don’t want to but many people choose to learn new things, as well as become experts in subjects they have already excelled in while on the physical. People can move between the different realms but they may not be able to remain long in that realm if there is too much disparity between their auric vibration and the vibration of the realm that they are on. So they may attend a school of learning on the next level up or come down from a higher level to provide teaching to those on the realms below them. How long are we in the spirit world before reincarnating? For some people the time on the spirit realms may be relatively brief – say five years – for others it may be for many hundreds of years – each case is different. In each instance of life we have the opportunity to improve our karmic pattern and the vibrations of our aura through the choices we make in this life. This means that the next time we pass to the spirit realm we may find ourselves in a different realm, whether that be higher or lower, depending on our actions in our current life. Ghosts Ghosts are people who when they have died have not moved directly to the spirit realms but have lingered in spirit on the physical realm, sometimes due to a strong draw to something on the physical realms or a stubborn refusal to believe that they are dead. If you see a family member in spirit this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are a ghost, they may just be having a short visit from the spirit realms. Ghosts can be caught for long periods of time on the physical realm and may need help to move onto the spirit realms. Once they do move on though, they rejoin the cycle of life on the spirit realms and then reincarnation back to the physical. How can we ensure we pass on to a higher realm when we die? Dr. King gave a few pieces of advice when he gave his lectures on this topic. The first thing he said was to look after not just our physical body but our auric body as well. Because it depends upon the purity of that auric body as to what environment we must come back to. We are evolving two sets of bodies – one is the physical body we inhabit for maybe 80 odd years, the other auric body we inhabit for thousands of years. One of the best things we can do for our auric body are yogic breathing exercises or spiritual exercises of any kind. The aura of an 80 year old person who has been breathing correctly will be in far better shape than that of a much younger person who has been taking drugs for a few years. When the 80 year old person passes on, because their auric body is virile and pure, then they won’t be like an 80 year old person on the other realms but will appear much younger. The second thing Dr King said, was that in his discussions with people who had passed over they usually said “If only I had my life over again I would do this and this and this” – and when they are saying this they don’t mean buying flash cars and houses, they mean that they would do things that would help their spiritual development. Although we have experience on other realms around this Earth, it is this physical realm where we can make the most strides in our spiritual evolution and as such it is the most important realm. If we want to pass on to a higher realm then we should focus on our spiritual development. We should help others and give service wherever possible. This way when we pass over hopefully we will not have as many regrets as most of the people Dr George King met. The Ascended Master Swami Vivekananda The Wise Ones are those who have delved within and made contact with the spark of God which resides within them. They have gone through the stages of concentration, contemplation and meditation in order to contact this spark, the all-knowledge space which is within them. They have risen the mighty power of kundalini and entered the deep state of samadhi, and there they have experienced great ecstatic peace which lasts for as long as they want it to last. They have bathed their soul in the light of the all-knowing part of God which is within them. Then they have made a supreme sacrifice – they have turned away from this peace, they have sacrificed this bliss in order to help the rest of humanity. One of the most misunderstood words on the Earth today is the word – love – yet we are all capable of expressing love through the simple power of prayer. We can raise our hands and visualise a white light flowing out from the palms of our hands and from our hearts. As Dr King says, Prayer is a way to direct energy by thought with love. If you imagined, when you were praying, a small chariot was going away from yourselves, the chariot would be love and the load that it was carrying would be the universal life force, or prana. Blessed are the planetary ones Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society This is a continuation of our series on the Cosmic Transmissions delivered through Dr George King known as The Twelve Blessings. In this, the Fourth Blessing which is to the Planetary Ones, we leave the confines of this Earth and look out into the Solar System to find the origins of many of the great spiritual teachers that have come among us. The universe is alive and pulsating with life, and this includes the other planets in our Solar System. The beings on these planets have watched us throughout our history and have sent their emissaries to help us. Some have worked openly and left obvious legacies, whilst others have worked behind the scenes and their efforts have not been noticed, but each has left the whole of humanity far better off for their presence. Some of the most well known of these are the Lord Buddha and the Master Jesus, who came from Venus, and Sri Krishna who was from Saturn. They are some of the Planetary Ones; they are Avatars who have come to Earth to help humanity. Blessed are the Planetary Ones who have, at this time, sacrificed peace, sacrificed friendship, sacrificed their very salvation for you. It’s not easy or pleasant for these great beings to come to Earth in this way. They are highly evolved – the difference between them and ourselves is far more pronounced than the difference between us and the animal kingdom. They must endure terrible limitation to live among us as we live, but they do so in order to help us, such is their love and compassion for the human race. This week we look at the Fifth Blessing – Blessed are the thanksgivers. Blessed are the Thanksgivers, for they turn great tides of energy and direct these towards their objectives. – The Master Jesus The thanksgivers are those who are aware of the devic kingdom, sometimes known as ‘nature’s finer forces’, and not only are they aware of the devas but they live in eternal thanks for their work. The devic kingdom is responsible for looking after nature and there are many types of devic entities. They are associated with plants, rivers, mountains and the weather. They are physical beings living on Earth, yet they exist on a different vibratory level so we cannot normally see them, although some psychics and some young children can see devas. The appreciation shown by the thanksgivers for the essential function and service provided by the devic kingdom to all life on Earth is so deep and profound that it becomes part of their every thought and action. This time it’s the Sixth Blessing we’re looking at: Blessed are they who heal in these days of great pain and suffering. Indeed there is an incredible amount of suffering in the world today, but there is something we can do about it. We all have the potential within us to give spiritual healing to others. It is a skill that can be easily learnt and yet can be incredibly powerful. It is certainly not new, the Master Jesus demonstrated it famously 2,000 years ago, but despite this it is still clouded in mystery today. We are all expressions of life, the self same life that is expressing itself through everyone and everything we see around us. We are all interconnected; we are all a part of a greater whole, and so it only makes sense that we do this. Those people who are giving healing are demonstrating their spiritual beliefs in a very practical and meaningful way, and it is to these people that the Master Jesus is directing his blessing. Blessed is She, Who, in sacrifice, has made a Space Refuge for you all. – The Master Jesus, 1958 The Mother Earth is not just a large inanimate lump of rock, nor even simply alive, she is in fact a great and mighty goddess, vastly more advanced than we are in spiritual evolution. She has provided a home for us for millions of years to enable us to gain the essential experience we need to progress upon our spiritual path towards enlightenment and ascension. In order for us to live here she has had to dampen her vibrations and hold up her evolution. In other words her material existence is preserved in its current form for our benefit. She is sacrificing herself on our behalf. She could be a far more radiant being, but this would entail changes the like of which we would not be able to handle at our present stage of evolution. It is for our benefit that she hides her light beneath the bushel of a material form at a low enough vibratory rate to cater for our needs. Unfortunately mankind as a whole has not paid the respect due to this great goddess, but despite this she has continued to sustain us. The most Holy, the most Sacred, the most God-like Being you have ever physically touched, is the ground beneath your feet. – Dr George King The Mother Earth cannot forever hold up her own evolution to support mankind. Blessed is the mighty Sun Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society Here we look at the eighth of The Twelve Blessings which is to the mighty Sun. If ever life on Earth was dependent upon any one thing, then it is completely and absolutely dependent upon the Sun for its every expression. If you forget everything else in the world, it will pay you always to remember this. – Dr George King We know the importance of the Sun in a scientific sense. Sunlight drives photosynthesis, the Sun heats our planet and of course we are in orbit of it. Life on Earth would not be possible without it. Image: nasa.gov Everything on Earth is just crystallised sunlight in one form or another, because prana comes from the Sun and all matter is made up of prana. We take prana into our bodies as we breathe, eat and drink. We can consciously bring more prana into our bodies through exercises like pranayama, otherwise known as yoga breathing. The Aetherius Society teaches workshops on this and there are some very good yoga breathing exercises given by Dr King in the book called Realise Your Inner Potential. They’re very easy to learn and regular practice of them can bring tremendous benefits. In The Aetherius Society we recognise the Sun as a highly evolved being which, by its very existence, is helping life in this Solar System, the galactic system, and even beyond that. The Master Jesus begins with these words: Oh my sweet adorable children, you come again to be bathed in the Wondrous Light of Mighty God and you shall be thus impregnated with this Wondrous Force, which cometh in soft gentleness from the Divine Heart. Let your Love flow forth, Oh children, unto those I speak of, for They are Sacred ones—and this Love will be returned, after a little time and it will be fashioned by a greater Love. The law of karma has been described in many ways, perhaps most famously by the Master Jesus 2,000 years ago when he stated: As you sow, so shall you reap. More colloquially these days someone might say “what goes around, comes around”. Karma is an all pervasive and inescapable law, affecting all of creation. Our every thought and action shapes our karma so we are creating our future, moment by moment. Blessed is the great being known as the Galaxy Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society This is a continuation of our series on The Twelve Blessings and here we look at the Tenth Blessing – Blessed is the great being known as the Galaxy. According to NASA: Our Galaxy, the Milky Way, is typical: it has hundreds of billions of stars, enough gas and dust to make billions more stars, and at least ten times as much dark matter as all the stars and gas put together. And it’s all held together by gravity. While these words can give us a little idea of the size of the Galaxy, it is still really so vast as to be beyond our comprehension. But the truly amazing thing about it is that, as we are told in The Twelve Blessings, it is in fact a living being. It lives, It breathes, It thinks, It feels pain, It meditates, in the same way as does the Logos of a Planet. Yet within Its Great and Mighty Structure there are thousands upon thousands of inhabited Worlds, hundreds of Mighty Suns, dozens of Great and Mighty Invisible Suns and the One Central Sun. Yet It is a Being. Fantastic indeed is Truth! – Mars Sector 6 Yes the Galaxy is a living being that is sacrificing itself so that trillions of lifestreams, including ourselves, may gain experience and evolve back to God. Blessed are the Supreme Lords of Creation Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society “Pillars of Creation” – Hubble  This week we continue our series on The Twelve Blessings with a look at the Eleventh Blessing – Blessed are the Supreme Lords of Creation. In the last blessing we talked about the vastness of the Galaxy. As difficult as it is to comprehend the size of a galaxy, at least we have a physical manifestation to start with. When we come to the supreme Lords of Creation however, we have no physical manifestation we can use to help us understand them. The Master Jesus states: There are no words in any language to express the Beauty of These Ones. There are no thoughts in any mind-belt, which could possibly do half-justice to the Wondrous Power of These Ones. For They are beyond description. Blessed Is The Absolute Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society The above image from NASA contains several hundred galaxies and yet this is but a tiny glimpse of the incomprehensible vastness of the Absolute. As we’ve progressed through The Twelve Blessings, we’ve gradually gone further and further outside of our comprehension. And with the Twelfth Blessing, we really have no concept of what is being described. For the Absolute is all things – it is God. There is nothing apart from the Absolute, nothing outside of it, it is everything. There is a great amount of confusion as to what God is but in this mighty blessing the truth about the great creator of all things is laid bare in simple terms which anyone can understand. This blessing is an explanation and at the same time an initiation into the vastness and yet closeness of that mysterious thing which has been given many names by many religions throughout the ages. The Master Jesus gives some beautiful words to help us grasp what the Absolute is: IT is the – I AM – within man. IT is the – Life within all things. IT is the – rain. IT is the – drought. IT is the – gentle breeze of summertime. IT is the – mighty wind across the seas. IT is the – seas. IT is the – emptiness of Space. IT is the – fullness contained within Space. IT is the – Worlds. IT is ever – and Forever and FOREVER. IT IS INFINITY – and yet it is more than this – for IT IS behind even these things. As incomprehensible as the Absolute is, it is a fantastic thing for us to contemplate for in doing so we expand our consciousness. Bravery – The First Of The Nine Freedoms Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society We’re excited to announce that this is the first ever podcast produced by the New Zealand Branch of The Aetherius Society! It’s also the first in a series of shows about the amazing book called The Nine Freedoms. This book contains a series of transmissions delivered by a Cosmic Intelligence, the great Mars Sector 6, who spoke through Dr King, the Founder of The Aetherius Society. Dr King went into a positive samadhic yogic trance and Mars Sector 6 spoke through him using his voicebox. These transmissions were given on successive Sundays in 1961, in London, England. Bravery is a word we all understand and at first may seem an unusual concept to begin a spiritual text with. But in order to evolve spiritually bravery is essential, because to do so we have to leave the well trodden path of orthodoxy. These days the media has such a hold over us, telling us what is important and what is not, we’re conditioned to live in a certain way, to strive for more money, a bigger house, greater fame and fortune. So to break away from this conditioning and to search for something deeper, something more lasting, is to go against the norm and this requires a certain kind of bravery. Not only this, the further along our spiritual path we progress the more we encounter situations that test our bravery to stick to our chosen path. Our podcast delves deeper into this concept of  ‘Bravery’. And even though all of us can express true Love, only a few really do so. By ‘Love’ we don’t mean the personal Love between a man and a woman, or a parent and a child, but a Love that goes far beyond close family ties and stretches throughout the world and even to the whole of creation itself. In this, the second of our podcast series on the book The Nine Freedoms, we’re looking into the Second Freedom – Love. As part of our personal journey through evolution we must bring the power of Love into active manifestation. We have within our hearts the capacity to unlock this mighty power, but how do we begin to access this? And do we really understand what Love is? The Nine Freedoms can help us answer these questions. The word Love, in the average person’s dictionary, means something very different from what it really is. This week we look at Service – something which is not common enough in our world, and yet is so desperately needed. Service is the Third of The Nine Freedoms. Unselfish service to others is the great karma yoga in these days, and it’s something we can all do in one way or another. We can give service directly by working for a charity to help the sick and needy – and there are so many worthy causes to choose from – or we can give service more indirectly through prayer and spiritual action. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Prayer is the most potent instrument of action”. By giving service we not only help others but also help ourselves on our own spiritual journey towards enlightenment. Enlightenment – How Can We Reach It? Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society Enlightenment Enlightenment is a deep state of meditation in which the meditator becomes one with that upon which they meditate. Upon reaching this state one has perfect vision and knows about all things past, present and future. To achieve it one must have risen above the ignorance which faces all mankind. An enlightened person knows who they have been in all their past lives and understands why they are here upon earth now. They become a knower, or a wise one. So whilst it is a lofty state indeed, it is important to recognise that we can all become enlightened at some point in the future, even if not in this life. In fact we will undoubtedly achieve this state, and it is up to us whether it takes a thousand lifetimes, or whether we can do this in less time. So how do we reach enlightenment? Tanya It is achieved by raising the mystic power known as kundalini. This normally resides, semi-dormant, at the base of the spine, but can be risen up through the spine to the psychic centre known as the ‘third eye’ or ‘Christ centre’. This takes tremendous effort and perseverance but the reward of doing so is very great. Cosmic Consciousness – What Is It? Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society Paramahansa Yogananda gave a good description of Cosmic Consciousness in his book “Autobiography of a Yogi” If we study the lives of the great Masters, Saints and Yogis throughout the ages, we will see that they experienced a different reality to those around them. They experienced a oneness with life and a love for all things. The truly amazing thing is that the ability to experience life in this way is within reach of us all. Indeed the Cosmic Master Mars Sector 6 who gave the spiritual teachings known as The Nine Freedoms makes it quite clear that Cosmic Consciousness is a birthright of all of us and should be our goal. But like all things worth pursuing, it is a lofty goal and not easily gained. It is something we work towards over many lifetimes. It is the culmination of a great journey through all of our experiences – from selfishness to selflessness. As discussed in our previous episode on Enlightenment, in order for Cosmic Consciousness to be experienced, the power of kundalini must be risen from the base of the spine up through the spinal column, through each of the psychic centres, to the crown chakra. Kundalini may be understood as an aspect of the Divine Spirit which is lodged in matter and is a negative pole or female in vibration. The Initiation of Ascension Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society This week’s presenter Elizabeth Martin This week’s presenter Elizabeth Martin delves into the fascinating mystery of Ascension. Ascension is a great initiation that we must all take at some stage in our evolution. We are here to learn in the classroom called Earth, but at some point we must reach the stage where we have gained all the experience we need from this classroom. At that point we are ready to “graduate” and this is basically what the initiation of Ascension is. In The Nine Freedoms the Cosmic Master Mars Sector 6 states: Freedom from rebirth is brought about by he who is ready, as a result of countless experiences, countless lessons well learned through these experiences. Such a one has manipulated his Karma so that it forms a pattern, which proves that he does not need to learn the basic lessons which can be afforded, by further birth upon Terra. Indeed is this a promising statement to the spiritual aspirant! But Ascension is not automatic, and it cannot be gained by the average person in just one lifetime. It takes many lives of sustained spiritual effort. But however distant it may seem, it is – as the great Cosmic Master who gave The Nine Freedoms says – the birthright of every person upon Earth to enjoy the highest form of initiation upon Earth, Ascension. In fact Earth has not always been the planet the human race has resided upon – we originate from the planet Maldek. The Earth is very much like a classroom. Once an individual has learned all the lessons that reincarnation upon Earth can teach them then they may remain on Earth as an Ascended Master, or begin life as a Cosmic Master on another planet. As incredible as it sounds, all of us here on Earth will, at some point far in the future, leave Earth to continue our journey through experience on other planets. There is life on Mars and all planets in our Solar System This information comes from a Cosmic Being known to us simply as Mars Sector 6. He gave this information in the form of Cosmic Transmissions, or messages, which were delivered through the yogic mediumship of Dr George King. “The Seventh Freedom will be—INTER-PLANETARY EXISTENCE. “After the Initiation of Ascension, the lifestream passes from Terra and either returns to work upon Terra, or goes to another classroom in the Solar System. In this case, the lifestream would be born on to another Planet through the Flame of the Logos of that Planet. It would not be born through the womb of the female, spending some time in a re-enactment of its evolutionary process as happens when a lifestream returns to Terra.” – Mars Sector 6The Cosmic Masters within our solar system live on higher material planes of their respective planets. Mars, for example, may appear barren and uninhabited on the plane of existence which we are currently able to observe, but it is inhabited on a higher plane, also known as a higher realm or higher frequency of vibration. In fact our whole solar system, and indeed the entire universe, is brimming with life. These beings have sent their emissaries to Earth to help us in the form of Avatars, but for the most part their true nature is not well known today. Saturnian Existence – The Eighth of The Nine Freedoms Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society After gaining experience on other planets in our Solar System a lifestream attains Saturnian Existence. It is born as an adult through the Logos, or life force, of the planet Saturn. The great beings on the planet Saturn are more highly evolved than the beings on any of the other planets in our Solar System. In fact they are able, as Mars Sector 6 states: …to inhabit up to 1,860 positions in the space-time continuum at one and the same instant! We are also told that two great beings in our history have come from the planet Saturn; Sri Krishna, who gave the Bhagavad Gita, and the Lord Babaji. But it would have only been a small fraction of them that actually came to Earth as the above statement shows. Solar Existence – The Ninth Freedom Copyrighted content - originally published by The Aetherius Society Life on earth would not be possible without the Sun. It has been stated by the Masters that we are all solidified sunlight and all physical matter comes from the Sun. In fact in a purely physical sense, 99.8% of the matter in the Solar System is the Sun. But what about the spiritual aspect of the Sun? The Nine Freedoms are a series of Cosmic Transmissions delivered by a Cosmic Intelligence known as Mars Sector 6. They were delivered in order to stimulate and raise the consciousness of those people on earth ready to accept them. They outline the steps we must take in our evolution within this Solar System and this culminates in the Ninth Freedom – Solar Existence. Yes as incredible as it sounds, there are great beings resident upon the Sun, but the nature of their existence is beyond our comprehension. Mars Sector 6 states: In comparison with Their greatness, we are all but specks of Cosmic dust, floating in some magnetic stream, with vague, half-risen consciousness. He goes on later to state: It is little wonder that the scribes who wrote the Bible regarded the Sun as God. It is little wonder that even in more ancient times than this, they worshipped this as a God, for deep, deep down, beneath the slime of man’s ignorance, there was a burning Spark of the Divine which burned with the selfsame Flame as burneth this mighty Globe.
