Send us Fan Mail Walking in Discernment Ep. 6: The Voice of Trauma | When Your Wounds Start SpeakingTrauma can end in the past and still keep speaking in the present. In Episode 6 of the Walking in Discernment series, we’re talking about The Voice of Trauma—how unhealed wounds can affect your identity, your relationships, your confidence, your habits, and even the way you respond to people who never hurt you.Trauma can whisper:“You’re not worthy.” “You’re not capable.” “You have to be perfect.” “Just isolate.” “Protect yourself before they hurt you.” “Don’t trust anybody.”But just because a thought comes from a painful experience does not mean it deserves authority over your future. In this episode, I also share part of my own testimony of what happened after one of the most traumatic relationships of my life. I isolated myself and began reaching for alcohol, binge eating, video games, and other things that felt comforting at the time. I convinced myself, “At least this is better than what I went through.”But relief is not always healing. We’ll also look at Jephthah and how rejection can influence the way we respond from our wounds, Joseph and how he refused to allow betrayal to turn him bitter, and Jesus—the greatest example of forgiveness.Forgiveness does not mean what happened to you was okay. It does not mean you have to trust that person again or remove healthy boundaries. Forgiveness means you stop allowing what they did to keep controlling what happens next.Your trauma may explain some of your wounds, but it does not get to name you.You survived it. Now let God teach you how to live free from it.This episode is spiritual encouragement and is not a replacement for professional mental-health care. Prayer is powerful, and God heals, but if trauma is severely affecting your ability to function, feel safe, sleep, maintain relationships, or live your everyday life, please do not be ashamed to seek appropriate support.TIMESTAMPS00:00 – The Voice of Trauma 01:30 – What Is Trauma? 03:00 – How Unhealed Wounds Speak 04:30 – Voice #1: “You’re Not Worthy” 07:00 – Voice #2: “You’re Not Capable” 09:30 – Voice #3: “You Have to Be Perfect” 12:00 – Voice #4: “Just Isolate” + My Testimony 15:30 – Jephthah: Responding From the Wound 18:30 – Joseph: Healing Without Bitterness 21:00 – Voice #6: “Don’t Trust Anybody” 23:30 – Jesus, Forgiveness & Letting God Handle Justice 27:00 – Encouragement & ClosingYou can adjust these timestamps once you know the final video length.Next Episode: Walking in Discernment Ep. 7 — The Voice of Addiction#Trauma #Healing #Discernment #Forgiveness #Jesus #Christianity #Faith #Bible #God #Freedom #Identity #ChristianPodcast #Testimony #Restoration #WalkingInDiscernmentthe voice of trauma, Walking in Discernment episode 6, Christian trauma healing, trauma and Christianity, healing from trauma with God, trauma and forgiveness, Christian podcast trauma, unhealed trauma, trauma response, trauma and isolation, trauma and perfectionism, trauma and identity, trauma and trust, healing emotional wounds, forgiveness after trauma, Jephthah trauma, Joseph forgiveness, Jesus forgiveness, Christian discernment, hearing God versus trauma, overcoming trauma biblically, Christian mental health, God heals trauma, childhood trauma Christian, relationship trauma healing, betrayal trauma Christian, trauma testimony, letting go of the past, God is a God of justice, Romans 12:19, Psalm 147:3, Walking in Discernment series Support the show
