His own life and his extensive studies in mental health nursing and Traditional Chinese medicine give him a wealth of knowledge he brings to tonights show. We also chat about the theories around acupuncture for depression. Our discussion is around mental wellbeing and the research showing acupuncture can alter brain chemistry and increase serotonin production (which is lowered in depression). Acupuncture is also known to increase endorphins (the body’s feel-good hormones) in the nervous system and brain, which may improve mood. Acupuncture has been shown to down-regulate the areas of the brain responsible for pain, stress, anxiety and worry. We discuss the currently used medical model for mental wellbeing and how with advancement in knowledge and holistic therapies we can support people in a more effective way. https://www.facebook.com/Frank-Ramsay-Acupuncture-2396120074047639/ Support the showThis podcast is sponsored by The Northern College of Clinical Hypnotherapywww.thenortherncollegeofclinicalhypnotherapy.com
