The Wisdom of Church - Beth Hoy

This week Beth begun two weeks teaching into 'The Wisdom of Church'. Reading from Matt 16:13-20, where Simon-Peter makes the declaration of Jesus as the Messiah being "the rock on which I (Jesus) will build my church". This is the moment that Jesus establishes the church. Church is God's idea, not ours, established by Jesus for the foundational purpose of gathering and declaring Jesus as Messiah, Lord and King. Church is a clear example of God's wisdom at work. The act of gathering to declare Jesus as Lord to each other, to the world and to God has profound purpose and meaning to our faith and to our calling to continue Jesus' mission until He returns.
