Sabbath Delight - Llewelyn Hoy
This week Llewelyn continued our 'Practicing the Sabbath' series, with a message on Delight.Reading from Psalm 37:4 “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart", he used the analogy of eating food without thinking and missing out on the joy that it brings.Llewelyn encourages us to slow down so we don't miss out on the good things that God has for us. God gives us the desires of our heart, but often we are too distracted, or too busy to actually take it in. We need to put boundaries in place to help keep distractions at bay and release us into rest. We need to devote ourselves to joy as a feeling, a discipline and a condition. Sabbath is a practice that helps us to invest in delight so that we can appreciate the gifts that God gives us.Llewelyn leaves us with the following questions to reflect upon this week:In what ways do you need to slow down and make sure you allow yourself to experience the desires of your heart? What boundaries do you need to put in place to protect your Sabbath and to release you into delight and joy?How can you delight in the Lord? Applied Mission - Dean Polkinghorne
MAY MISSION MONTH 2025 This week, Dean brought us the final message message for May Mission Month, leaning into how we can put into practice what God has been saying to us throughout this time.Looking at the theme of Working Together More Like Jesus, we engaged with the story in Mark 3:31-35 where Jesus uses the occasion of His blood family wanting to have a word with Him, to make the point that His Kingdom family are those who do what God wants, seeking God’s Kingdom. Glimpse of the Kingdom - Bee Scott
MAY MISSION MONTH 2025This week Bee brought us the next message for May Mission Month, as we focused on local mission. We live in the now and the not yet, we are saved from sin and death but our world is still full of so much brokenness. Our broken world full of poverty, war, heartache and injustice. But we have hope, the day of Revelation 21 is coming where there will be no more crying, hurting or pain. So what do we do while we wait?We seek to bring glimpses of the kingdom to our broken world. Just like Jesus did we heal the sick, we feed the hungry, we value those who are seen as less, we bring order to chaos and we speak out against injustice (Isaish 61:1-3). We are the body of Christ and each of our giftings, callings, limitations will be different. But we all have ways that we can bring a glimpse of the kingdom today. How is God calling you to bring a glimpse of the kingdom?

He doesn't defend himself, but willingly walks into death for all those who betrayed him. He bears the weight of grace and takes away their guilt.Llewelyn leaves us with the following questions to reflect on this week:How does this story make you feel? What do you need to bring to God?Which Portrait describes you best (Judas, Chief Priests, Field of Blood, Pilate, the Crowd)?
