So let's do it together. It is Colon Cancer Awareness month after all. Are there any colon cancer symptoms we should be looking out for? If you have any changes like bleeding or changes in symptoms - it's important to reach out to your gastroenterology team.Many people are curious about what colon cancer symptoms to look out for, however it's important to not that many people do not have classic symptoms. So if you are at risk, be sure to get regular colonoscopies and talk with your Gastroenterologist.Even if you don't have changes or colon cancer symptoms, new guidelines suggest people as young as 45 may need to be screened. If you've got IBD, you'll likely be receiving colonoscopies every 2-3 years or sooner if you are more at risk.It's a touchy subject for me and many with IBD who live with additional risk - so I won't share all the stats with you on why you want to prevent it. I know like me, you probably already know them. But here is how we are reducing our risk:⭐Regular Colonoscopies - THE best way to prevent it and get it early. Get them every 2 years after 10 years of diagnosis or sooner if your GI suggests it.⭐Check your nutrients!
